Health Director shares thoughts with doctors

Stressing the unique profession of doctors, Health Services Director Dr Chambo Gonmei advised them to work sincerely at their place of posting.
He made the remark during the 40th foundation day celebration of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) held today at Auditorium 2 of Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS) at Langol.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Chambo Gonmei extended warm congratulations to Shija Hospital and its faculty for completing 40 years of service to the public.
Lauding the addition of medical and nursing colleges, he said that the hospital has carried out various charitable works in different States and the neighbouring country of Myanmar.
Encouraging doctors to be guided by the spirit of public service, he urged them to avoid confronting the public in case there is any misunderstanding.
Further, saying that doctors should be humble, the Health Services Director added that when they are posted in remote locations, it should not be seen as "punishment posting".
Instead, doctors should work sincerely and with dedication at their place of posting.
As the guest of honour, Professor N Sanjib, Medical Superintendent, RIMS, attributed Shija's success over four decades to the courage, unbreakable spirit, and determination of its entire family.
Delivering the presidential address, Dr Palin Kh, Chairman cum Managing Director of SHRI informed the gathering that they are planning to add five PG medical courses from this year onwards.
He also highlighted the numerous milestones that shaped Shija Hospital while also addressing challenges such as lack of parking space and the need for improved road infrastructure around the hospital and institution complex.
Later, a special souvenir commemorating the 40th foundation day and a song dedicated to Shija Hospital were also released.
