Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup / Library observes 33rd foundation day

Marking thirty-three years since its establishment, the Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup Cum Library celebrated its 33rd foundation day at their office premises located at Yairipok Bamon Leikai today.
The foundation day celebration was accompanied with the presentation of Usham Nilachandra Ningshing Khorirol Mana 2025 and book releases.
The event was graced by Keisham Meghachandra, MLA, Wangkhem Assembly Constituency and president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president as the chief guest; Rajendra Mutum, president, Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup cum Library and Nongmaithem Kirankumar, former convenor of Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi New Delhi as the guest of honour.
As a part of the event, the gathering observed a 2-minute silence to pay their respects to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the ongoing Manipur conflict as well as the deceased founding members and office bearers of Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup Cum Library.
Following this, the MPCC president presented the Usham Nilachandra Ningshing Khorirol Mana 2025 to renowned writer Dr Haobam Nalini Devi for her poetry book "Nungshithoiba".
The award comes with a monetary prize of Rs 10,000, citation and a shawl.
It may be noted that the Usham Nilachandra Ningshing Khorirol Mana 2025 is sponsored by Usham Niranjan, AIR Imphal approved lyricist from Yairipok Bamon Leikai and vice-president of Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup cum Library, in the memory of his late father Usham Nilachandra.
At the event, Laitom Huikap, secretary, Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup Cum Library presented the "secretary report" while Ningthempishak Wairokpam, chairman, Award Committee spoke at length about the memorial award.
Additionally, shawls were gifted to literary figures and enthusiasts.
A compilation of articles written by Raghubir Thiyam, notable writer and founding president of Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup cum Library, titled "Numidang Wairamshida" was also released on the occasion.
Further, the dignitaries officially released MF Rahaman's collection of short stories "Achetpa Mari" .
While Nongmaithem Kirankumar introduced Numidang Wairamshida, Dr Sanasam Nabadwip spoke at length about Achetpa Mari before the gathering.
