Bodies inspect Tamei area

All Zeliangrong Students� Union Manipur and Zeliangrong Students� Union, Manipur visited Tamei area from January 24 to 27 to take stock of the society, education, road, transport and communication facilities of the area.
The inspection team found Imphal-Tamei road in pathetic condition with personnel of Dogra Regiment clearing debris of landslides, said a press release.
As State PWD has turned a blind eye to such public woes, poor villagers have no option but to repair some parts of the road with contributed amount from MGNREGS wages, it added.
Quoting one Hodin Newmai of Tamei, the press release said that SK oil is sold at the rate of Rs 35 per litre.
No PDS rice and sugar reach Tamei area after ADC elections, it added.
According to Chairman of Aling Khundong village Chairman LK Kengtelou, the press release said, four teachers are engaged in teaching of more than 150 students at the village Primary school.
It added that there is no school building and furniture at Dikuiram.
