The resolutions adopted during the just concluded 13th State conference of All Manipur Nupi Marup would be taken up for discussion during the forthcoming regional conference of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) to be hosted by the Nupi Marup at Imphal sometime in June.
Disclosing this while addressing a press conference at Irabot Bhavan here today, secretary of All Manipur Nupi Marup S Sorojini Devi explained that the 13th State conference of the All Manipur Nupi Marup had been organised from May 10 to 11 as a preparatory event of the regional conference of NFIW.
In all 10 resolutions have been adopted during the State conference.
The resolutions include resolving the problem of insurgency in Manipur through political dialogue, ensuring 10 percent of the benefits under NREGS to women, reservation of 33 percent of the seats in Parliament and State Assemblies for women, to complete construction of the three market sheds of Khwairamband Bazar and dedicating them to the people simultaneously, setting up hospitals with maternity and child care facilities in all the districts of the State, etc.
Vice president of NFIW Asomi Gogoi who was also present during the press conference informed that the regional conference of the NFIW would be hosted by All Manipur Nupi Marup at Imphal sometime in June.
The theme of the regional conference would be on 'Insurgency and development' and the discussion would be centred around the problems of the North Eastern States with special attention on the problems being faced by the women, Gogoi said.
The issues taken up in the regional conference would again be brought up for discussion at the National conference scheduled to be held at Patna from October 15 to 18, another vice president of the Federation Pranoti Mukherjee said.
