NVG calls out 'lies of Kukis'

The Naga Village Guard (NVG), Central Command has refuted the claim made by Kukis regarding reports of Mullam village being attacked today by Tangkhul Naga volunteers, popularly known as Naga Village Guards.
According to the press statement, the Naga Village Guards (NVGs) stationed between Sinakeithei and Sirarakhong, near Mullam, were on a patrol duty this morning, following repeated attacks on Sinakeithei village and reports of constant tactical movement in the peripheries by Kuki armed cadres under Suspension of Operations (SoO) pact.
During their patrol, the NVGs reportedly came under heavy fire from Kuki armed cadres under SoO, killing Horshokmi Jamang (29) from Chatric Khullen village, Kamjong on the spot while gravely injuring four other volunteers.
According to NVG, Ramshang Kamodang (32) of Nambisha sustained an injury on the chin; Horrei Khokyar (26) of Kalhang was wounded by lathode shrapnel on the back of his head; Shonshok Mahung (36) of Hungpung was shot through his thigh and Ramnganing Mahon (34) of Ngaina was wounded on the leg.
NVG has clarified that retaliatory fire and response was initiated against the attackers by the volunteers to fend for themselves.
Later, the volunteers returned to their camps and assumed a defensive position.
