Many more condemn CCpur killing

Imphal, January 24 2026:
As many as 22 organisations have vehemently condemned the abduction and brutal murder of Mayanglambam Rishi-kanta s/o M Tombi of Kakching Khunou Uchan Makhong Leikai, Kakching by Kuki militants at Natjang village, Churachandpur district on January 22, 2026 .
A joint press release issued by the 22 organisations including UPF, AMSU, MAPI Council, NIPCO, EEVFAM, Macha Leima, All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup, All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj and AMKIL have also urged the Government to arrest all the perpetrators and award them exemplary punishment.
It said that the Government of India has no intention to bring an end to the Kuki aggression against Meiteis which started from May 3, 2023 .
By imposing President's Rule, the Government of India has been plotting to polarise the hill people and the plain people, it alleged.
The CSOs remarked that there is no indication of the PR administration protecting the law and order.
The cold blooded murder of Mayanglambam Rishikanta has all the potential to ignite fresh conflict between the Kuki and Meitei communities, they said.
The joint press release asserted that the Government of India and the State Government must be held responsible if any fresh conflict erupts.
Expressing amazement over the Government's failure to pull up the murderers till date, the 22 organisations pledged unstinted support to whatever decision taken by the JAC formed in connection with the brutal murder of Rishikanta.
The CSOs have also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
The case has been handed over to the NIA .
