Four cadres of armed outfits arrested

Imphal, July 20 2025: Security forces arrested four cadres of different proscribed armed organisations in search operations conducted to maintain law and order.

According to Manipur Police Control Room, police arrested a cadre of the armed UPPK from Kanglapat near GM hall under City police station on Saturday.

The arrested person has been identified as Yumnam Prem Meitei alias Thawai alias Ibungo (23) of Langmeidong Laimanai Bazar.

A mobile phone and wallet were seized from him.

Similarly, a cadre of PREPAK identified as Mayanglambam Sunder Meitei alias Leiba (38) of Seijang Awang Leikai was rounded up from his residence on Saturday.

Security force also arrested a cadre of RPF/PLA identified as Mutum Norin Meitei (33) of Nongren Mamang Leikai from Napet Khul while a cadre of KCP (PWG) identified as Nanaoh alias Boboy (43) of Langkhong village, Noney district was arrested from Polo Ground parking area under City police station on July 18.He was involved in extortion and cases pertaining to crime against women.

A mobile handset, Rs 70,000 in cash and a wallet with aadhaar card were seized from him.

Meanwhile, security forces recovered one each.303 rifle, .32 country made pistol with magazine, country made single barrel gun, improvised rocket bomb and pistol pouch, two each improvised mortar (pumpi) and bullet proof plates, three each hand grenades and wireless earpieces, four 38 mm anti-riot rubber bullets, five cartridge belts (12 bore), six tactical vests, 10 improvised rounds (pompi) and 21 tear smoke shells from Lamzang village under Churachandpur police station on Saturday .
