Army veterans pay tributes to martyr

Imphal, May 17 2025:
A delegation of army veterans of Manipur and officials of Rajya Sainik Board, Manipur paid a visit to the family of martyred Constable Deepak Chingakham of Border Security Force at Yairipok Yambem Mathak Leikai today.
The delegates comprised more than 25 veterans led by retired Lt Gen KH Singh and included retired Col GS Puyam, secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, Manipur, Wg Cdr AD Singh (Retd), Gp Capt K Surjit (Retd), Lt Col KR Singh (Retd), Lt Col N Ranjan Singh (Retd) & others.
They expressed their deepest condolences and gratitude to the martyr's family for their sacrifice.
They honoured the martyr's memory and acknowledged the family's contribution to the Nation's security.
"The visit aimed to strengthen the bond amongst the armed forces and also with the local community, promoting a sense of solidarity and respect for the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers," said the veteran officers during their visit.
Constable (General Duty) Deepak Chingakham (25) of the 7th Battalion, Border Security Force (BSF) laid down his life following a drone attack launched from Pakistan at Kharkhola Border Outpost (BOP) on May 10 .
The family appreciated the gesture, feeling proud of their son's sacrifice.
The army veterans also offered assistance and support to the martyr's family, ensuring their well being and welfare.
"The visit demonstrates the armed forces commitment to honouring the sacrifices of our brave soldiers and supporting their families," said the veteran officers.
