RIMS mourns demise of Abiel Sachiana

Imphal, May 15 2025: Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, mourned the tragic demise of Abiel Sachiana Ch Marak, a dedicated and promising fourth-semester BSc Nursing student of the RIMS College of Nursing.

In a release, RIMS PRO informed that Abiel of Rongram in West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, was known for her gentle nature, sincerity, and unwavering commitment to her studies and the nursing profession.

Her sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the RIMS community, particularly among her classmates, teachers, and friends.

A condolence meeting was held at Jubilee Hall, RIMS, where floral tributes were offered along with heartfelt prayers in her memory.

As a mark of respect, two minutes of silence were observed by all attendees.

The release also informed that RIMS director professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, expressed profound sorrow over Abiel's untimely demise, describing it as an irreparable loss.

He extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the institute, noting that the loss is deeply felt across the RIMS community.

The institute stands in full solidarity with the family during this difficult time, it added.
