Kumbi Water Supply scheme inspected by a team of MPYC

Moirang, July 13 2025: The construction of Kumbi Water Supply Plant, undertaken by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to provide safe drinking water to residents of Kumbi, was inspected today by a team of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) led by its president, Anand Wahengbam.

The visit aimed to assess the progress and readiness of the water supply plant.

The inspection team was accompanied by PHED department officials, and engineers from the Unipro Infrastructure Company Pvt Ltd, which is executing the construction work.

Speaking to the media, Anand Wahengbam stressed the importance of a sustainable and reliable water supply system in the region.

He pointed out that the Kumbi Municipality area has long faced challenges in accessing clean drinking water, road connectivity, etc despite its status as a municipal town.

He said that since PHED officials have assured that the project would be completed by December 2025 and with 90% of the work being completed, he urged to expedite the construction work so that residents of Kumbi could access clean drinking water.

The inspection team also included Naorem Bimol, president Kumbi Block Congress Committee and Wahengbam Samson, president Voice of Kumbi.
