MAYOL pushes for clean politics

Imphal, May 10 2026: The Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) has urged people to reaffirm their commitment to bringing about positive changes in politics and a clean governance in Manipur.

To bring about a clean governance, MAYOL said people should reject and refrain from asking for gifts including monetary assistance from aspiring candidates, organising and taking part in election-related feasts.

The trend of approaching aspiring candidates for assistance could dilute and hinder the public movement to bring about clean politics and governance, it said.

MAYOL reminded that it had launched a mass awareness campaign under the banner "Politics: Anouba Laang-on gi Vote" at Manipur University on January 16, 2026.The sustained campaign aimed at bringing about positive changes in politics and a clean governance of the people is continuing and gaining traction.

People should reject any trend that could dilute this movement, it added.

Manipur's governance has not improved and remained dependent since its merger with India on October 15,1949.The people of the State must unite and support the campaign "Politics: Anouba Laang-on gi Vote" to bring about the desired changes in governance, peace and prosperity, it added.
