Imphal, November 09 2025:
As in the previous years, the proscribed PREPAK and its armed wing Red Army will observe "Martyrs Memorial Day" on November 12, 2025.A combined team of CRPF and Manipur Police attacked a transit camp of PREPAK at Kameng Leimarok on November 12, 1978.PREPAK's Dhiren alias Angam, Kabikanta alias Leingam and PLA's Gambhir were killed in the attack, according to a statement issued by PREPAK Publicity and Propaganda Charge-De-Affairs Leibaakngaakpa Luwang.
Again, on November 12, 1985, PREPAK leader RK Tulachandra alias Loyataba died at the hands of security forces posted at Kabowakching Sugar Factory.
Taking these two common dates together, PREPAK and the Red Army have been observing November 12 as "Martyrs Memorial Day" since 1979 in honour of all the people who have laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement, it said.
Saying that no entertainment or merrymaking programme should be organised on November 12, 2025, the outfit has appealed to all the people to offer lamps at the martyrs' tombs and memorials as well as at residential gates in the evening of November 12 .
It said that the supreme sacrifice made by the three martyrs at Kameng Leimarok reignited the aspiration for liberation of the land among the masses.
The names of all the people who laid down their lives in the struggle of liberating Manipur will always continue to shine like bright stars in the history of mankind's struggle for freedom, the outfit said.
The battle of Kameng is a beacon for the liberation movement of Manipur and it will remain a source of inspiration to future generations, it said.
The outfit pledged that they will follow the footsteps of the martyrs and carry on the struggle with unwavering determination until the alleged alien rule is uprooted from the soil of Kangleipak.
As the conflict intensifies, many people may die but there will be peace, stability, independence, progress and equality at the end, the outfit said.
"We are descendents of Paona who said in 1891 that he would not go home as a defeated soldier even if he could not win the war", it said.
The outfit asserted that what they have been fighting is a just war, not an unjust one.
The international law permits a Nation to wage a war of liberation in self-defence and to reclaim the lost sovereignty which was usurped deceitfully and forcibly, it said.
It then cited the UN General Assembly's 'Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples'.
According to a declaration made by the UN General Assembly in 1970, people fighting for right to self determination may use any means or force at their disposal but no force can be used against them, the outfit asserted.
It said that violation of legitimate right to self determination is an international crime akin to genocide.
No one has the authority to destroy the territorial integrity of Kangleipak which was there in 1947 and the people of Kangleipak have the right to self determination, the outfit said.
It then asserted that National liberation movement is a political expression of the right to self determination.
The international law recognises both the right to self determination and National liberation movements.
The right to self determination forms the foundation of the first Article of two key covenants of the UN, it said.
Even though India supported National liberation movements outside its boundary as seen in the liberation of Bangladesh in 1971, it has been suppressing the National liberation movement of Kangleipak in all aspects, it alleged.
Together with the people, PREPAK has been waging a war of liberation to restore the sovereignty of Kangleipak.
In their efforts to suppress the legitimate liberation movement, India has taken the form of a monster.
Armed with unrestricted powers, Indian armed forces have been systematically persecuting the people of Kangleipak, it alleged.
The outfit concluded by offering homage to all the martyrs who laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement.
