Five-Day NSS Fest comes to a close

The five-day North East NSS Festival 2025 hosted by the NSS Cell of Manipur University concluded today at the auditorium of MU.
Marking the successful culmination of the vibrant festival, the valedictory function was graced by Dr Mayengbam Veto Singh, Director of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS); Professor Th Binoy Singh, Registrar (i/c), MU; NC Deori, Youth Officer, Regional Office (NER), Guwahati and Dr L Santosh Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, MU.
Prize winners of the various cultural competitions held during the festival were felicitated during the function.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Mayengbam Veto Singh emphasized the importance of community engagement beyond regular NSS activities, urging volunteers to extend their service to areas that directly impact public life.
He highlighted future initiatives being planned by YAS, such as book fairs, talk shows, and interactive sessions with past achievers and expressed the department's intent to collaborate with NSS teams, NYK units, and local clubs in these upcoming programs.
Encouraging the adoption of key public places by NSS units, he called upon volunteers to be proactive in offering voluntary services whenever there is a need in society, during times of natural calamities, floods, pandemics, and other emergencies.
The NSS Programme Coordinator of DM University, Imphal, along with the State Youth Officers of NYK, Imphal, were also honoured on the occasion.
The valedictory ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude to all participating teams, organizing members, and officials.
