Governor, CM greet teachers

Imphal, September 04 2026: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand Singh have greeted teachers on Teachers' Day.

Teachers play a vital role in shaping the minds and character of young people and in laying the foundation for a responsible, enlightened and progressive society.

Beyond imparting knowledge, they instill values, discipline, confidence and a sense of responsibility in their students, said the Governor in his message.

"Teachers' Day, observed in honour of the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli radhakrishnan, is an occasion to recognise and appreciate the dedication and contribution of our teachers.

Their commitment to nurturing the next generation is especially important in building a knowledge-based and harmonious society," said the Governor, urging teachers to continue inspiring students.

Chief Minister Y Khem-chand Singh also greeted the teachers on the occasion, acknowledging their dedica- tion and selfless service.

"On this occasion, let us reaffirm our collective commitment to strengthening the education system and creating an environment where every child can learn, grow and realise their full potential.

I wish all teachers good health, happiness and continued success in their noble profession," said the CM .

Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata has also extended his greetings to all the teachers on the occasion of the day and urged them to nurture the young minds who are the future pillars of society.

MLA K Robindro Singh too greeted the teachers and lauded their role in moulding the minds and character of the young students.

Teachers' Day in India is celebrated every year on September 5 to honor educators and mark the birth anniversary of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India's second President and a renowned philosopher and teacher.
