Hundreds throng ILP camp at Dharamsala

Following the enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur from January 1, Imphal West district administration opened a camp at Dharamsala, Thangal Keithel today, to give out ILP passes to non-locals who have not yet obtained them.
According to a source from Imphal West district administration, a large number of people turned up to get the pass during the camp, which was opened from 10 am to 4 pm today.
Similar camps would be opened by shifting the venue in the future, the source informed, explaining that properly checking the credentials of the people who come for the pass takes a lot of time.
371 regular passes and 3 temporary passes were given out today.
On the other hand, coupons were handed out to 182 people who were in the queue but failed to get the pass during the camp today.
The source further informed that another camp would be organised on .January 6 and the ILP passes will be distributed after verifying the necessary documents.
Similar camps would also be organised on January 10 and 11 as well, the source concluded.
On the other hand, 285 non-Manipuris were given temporary ILP passes from the counter opened at Jiribam today, reports our correspondent.
