Imphal, May 03 2026: Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah has condoled the demise of former Minister AS Arthur and Khatingla Keishing, the wife of former Chief Minister Rishang Keishing.

About AS Arthur, Ram Muivah said, "Our family, my father and his siblings always remember him with deep gratitude for saving the life of my uncle Pheishi in the early 1950s" .

AS Arthur was a mentor to many needy students.

His long and incredible life journey deserves to be celebrated.

In his demise at the ripe age of 99 years, not only the Tangkhuls but Manipur has lost a tall leader.

"At this hour of grief and sorrow, I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved family," Ram Muivah said.

He also condoled the passing away of "Aunty Khatingla Keishing" the wife of late "Oja Rishang Keishing" and former Chief Minister.

"Aunty Khatingla was a mother figure of Manipur, loved and respected by all communities.

She was a pillar of quiet strength; always supportive of her husband no matter what.

They were an inspiration for many.

Their life and work deserve to be celebrated," Ram said.

The Ex-MLA Welfare Association in a statement too expressed condolences to the bereaved family members of AS Arthur.

"He was highly competent in all the posts he held.

In him, we have lost a great leader of the State of Manipur," said the association.
