Imphal, August 31 2025: Imphal proudly hosted the 2nd East Zone Pediatric Rheumatology Society (EZPRS) Conference on August 31 at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal, North AOC.

The event was jointly organised by EZPRS and the Pediatric Association of Manipur (PAM), marking an important step in advancing child health care in the eastern region of India.

The conference was held under the theme, "Every Child Matters: Bridging Gaps in Pediatric Rheumatology Care", emphasizing the need to strengthen services for children living with rheumatic and immunological diseases.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Chambo Gonmei, Director, Health Services, Government of Manipur; Prof Ch Shyamsunder, HOD, Pediatrics, RIMS Imphal & president, PAM; Prof Tapas Kumar Sabui, Professor, Pediatrics, Santiniketan Medical College, West Bengal; and Dr Longjam Basanta, secretary, PAM.

Dr Nameirakpam Johnson, Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist at JNIMS was the organising secretary of the event.

Delegates from across the east zone participated in scientific sessions, case discussions, and interactive programmes.

The conference served as a valuable platform to promote collaboration, share expertise, and raise awareness about the challenges faced by children with rheumatic conditions.

By hosting this conference, Imphal has taken a significant role in advancing pediatric rheumatology care in the region.
