Lockdown: Alfred Arthur urges public not to fear

Ukhrul, March 28 2020:
MLA Alfred Arthur Kanngam urged the public not to fear or panic on total lockdown enforced by the Government, saying that it is a precautionary measure to prevent transmission of the disease across
the country.
He also urged the public to follow the simple rules of maintaining social distance, stay home and wash hands with soap or sanitizers regularly to prevent infection.
Briefing media persons at the complex of Mini Secretariat Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, the MLA comforted the people of Ukhrul by saying that the State Government has streamline policies to avail essential commodities in all districts in order to avert shortage during the lockdown.

The MLA also maintained that sufficient rice has been stocked in FCI godown, Ukhrul for rationing the people without any shortfall during the crisis.
He said every single household will get the due ration share free of cost and distribution will begin from Monday.
Responding to the queries, the MLA said necessary arrangements have been made to avail the daily requirements of all essential commodities including medicines and fuels in the town market.
However, he appealed the people of Ukhrul to come together and share their contribution in fighting against the deadly disease.
Urging the residents of Ukhrul to follow the framed rules and guidelines of District Administration and police to prevent transmission of coronavirus through personal contact, the MLA informed that more than twenty thousand face masks were purchased and will arrive today for public distribution, and also personal protective equipment ( PPE) has been ordered for the district health workers from his end.
He also encouraged the people of Ukhrul to feel free and inform or approach him for any emergency cases.
Alfred also assured that until the pandemic COVID-19 is contained from the district he would station here and work together with the people investing all his potential resources to free Ukhrul from coronavirus without any record of fatality.
Meanwhile, the SP, Ukhrul Worngam Ningshen expressed that the town folks is gradually adapting with the system of social distance while in marketing.
Worngam appealed the public to avoid bulk buying of goods in order to avert a shortage of stock and equal distribution of goods during the crisis.
