Threatened with live bullet

Four petitioners who filed a petition in the Court regarding possible misappropriation of MGNREGS wages have been threatened by gifting a live bullet and a letter by some people who identified themselves as cadres of KYKL.
Speaking to media persons at Palace Compound office of Macha Leima this afternoon, petitioner Naorem Thoibi of Phumlou Keiroi Maning Leikai said that the bullet and the letter of intimidation was given to her by one individual who came on a Honda Activa on January 10 .
The letter asked Thoibi to withdraw the petition for the case has been reportedly taken up by KYKL.
It warned the petitioners of unwanted consequences if the petitioners are adamant.
The letter has also one mobile number for communication.
Thoibi, Kongjengbam Memi, Konjengbam Premchand and Sagolsem Tamubi filed a petition at the Court of CJM Imphal West against Phumlou Gram Panchayat Member Chanambam Ibocha (3) in September last year.
The petition was filed seeking justice for withdrawing MGNREGS wages in the names of the four petitioners without their knowledge.
Thoibi said that around Rs 62,000 have been withdrawn in their names .
Macha Leima RTI Apunba Lup assistant coordinator Potshangbam Gita said that four persons filed complaints to relevant authorities on September 17 last year seeking information about Indira Awaz Yojana, 2012-13 finance, State finance and MGNREGS for Phumlou GP but the complaints did not receive any answer.
The complainants were Taorem Premabati, Naorem Thoibi and Chabungbam Inaocha, all belonging to Phumlou Keiroi Maning Leikai.
Around this time, the petitioners filed a complaint at the Court of CJM, Imphal West.
Petitioner Konjengbam Memi said that they were first threatened repeatedly through mobile phone.
Even as the petitioners and the unidentified persons agreed to negotiate at specified places and time, the unidentified persons never turned up.
"After a bullet and a letter of intimidation were given to us, we now feel every insecure and fear for the worst", Memi said.
