AR conducts plantation drive, hosts meet

Imphal, August 06 2025: In an initiative resonating with environmental benevolence and community bonding, Assam Rifles organised a tree plantation drive at Keithelmanbi Garrison in Imphal West district on Tuesday with participation of families residing within the garrison.

According to PRO IGAR (S), a specially curated garden featuring nine distinct plant species was unveiled during the event, symbolising the rich biodiversity of the region.

Each sapling planted represented not just a step toward a greener future, but also the unity and shared responsibility of.the families who call the garrison home.

Participants, both young and old, engaged wholeheartedly in the activity, reflecting a collective resolve to nurture the environment and preserve it for future generations, the PRO conveyed.

On the other hand, to foster Community harmony and collaborative development, Assam Rifles organised a Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) meet at Waroiching village in Bishnupur district on Tuesday, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders including village heads, women's collectives, youth representatives, and civil society members, alongside personnel from Assam Rifles, CRPF, and Manipur police.

According to the PRO, the interaction served as a platform for open dialogue on pressing local issues, with special focus on resettlement planning, coordinated safety measures, and inclusive welfare strategies ahead of the upcoming harvesting season.

The participants actively contributed insights on the prevailing security land scape, access to essential services, and livelihood concerns affecting the region, said the PRO in a release.
