AR extends aid to flood, landslide affected

Noney, July 17 2025:
Noney Battalion Assam Rifles extended humanitarian assistance to the people of Gathao and Duithanjang villages in Khoupum Valley, Noney district, following the flash floods and landslides that struck the region in the intervening night of July 15 and 16 .
The situation triggered by incessant rainfall, led to widespread destruction damaging infrastructure, and severing road connectivity.
Responding to the crisis with urgency and empathy, the Flood Relief Column stationed at Khoupum swiftly launched relief and rescue operations.

The troops evacuated stranded civilians from isolated arid waterlogged areas to safer grounds, ensuring their security and well-being.
They cleared debris from damaged homes, preventing further risks and aiding in the swift restoration of living spaces.
Additionally, essential food supplies and commodities were relocated to safe storage to avert spoilage, while a dedicated medical team provided much-needed health assistance to the affected.
