Huge cache of arms recovered at Kpi

Imphal, August 27 2025: Security forces carried out search operations in different parts of Kangpokpi district and recovered huge number of arms, ammunition and explosives, said sources.

A combined team of 16 Assam Rifles, 122 Battalion CRPF and personnel of Kangpokpi district police launched a search operation in the general area of Maohing village jungle and Changoubung village located some 7 kilometers from Kangpokpi police station on the North-west side.

During the search operation, the team recovered one USA made M-16 Rifle along with a magazine loaded with 10 live rounds, one .303 Rifle along with two magazines, one Chinese Machine gun along with a magazine, one LMG Barrel, one country made Lathod gun along with two shells, three Pistols, two live rounds of 9mm ammunition, three magazines of .22 Pistol, one .22 Rifle along with a magazine and 40 live rounds of ammunition, six Bolt Action Rifle, one Single Barrel Rifle, one 12 mm Semi Barrel Rifle along with 12 live rounds, three country-made improvised projectile launchers (Pumpi), two hand grenades, four Baofeng Radio sets and three bullet proof jackets.

The recovered items have been handed over to the Kangpokpi police station.

In another search operation, a joint team of Kangpokpi police, New Keithelmanbi police and personnel of 19 AR recovered arms and ammunition from Kotzim.

The team recovered one 9mm Carbine along with a magazine, one Single Barrel Rifle, three pull mechanism Rifles, three improvised mortars and two high explosive hand grenades.

The recovered items have been handed over to New Keithelmanbi police station.
