NSCN (IM) accuses AT of courting controversy

Imphal, May 24 2025: NSCN (IM), Wung Tangkhul Region has accused the Arambai Tenggol of courting controversy at the 'wrong time and wrong place' by hoisting a Salai Taret flag on Shirui peak.

A press release issued by GPRN, Wung Tangkhul Region said that the Salai Taret flag has no connection with the Tangkhuls in any manner whatsoever culturally, historically or politically.

Saying that Arambai Tenggol's actions constitute a breach of social protocol, the Wung Tangkhul Region has demanded the Arambai Tenggol to tender an unqualified apology within 48 hours.

No common legacy, says TNL: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has claimed that there is no common legacy between the Nagas and the valley.

"We Nagas have no common legacy with yours.

We, Nagas, have no common history with yours.

Therefore we should settle for good neighbourliness.

Anything less or beyond would mean perpetual heart burns," said a press release issued by TNL .

Turning to the Chief Secretary, it went on to claim that Gwaltabi is not in Imphal East.
