IDPs pledge support to proposed Jan 31 rally

Imphal, January 24 2026: Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from different places including Churachandpur, Moreh, Torbung etc have pledged support to the mass rally being organised by COCOMI on January 31, 2026 .

Churachandpur Meitei United Committee (CMUC), Meetei Council Moreh (MCM), Committee on Protection of Meitei Victims Moreh (COPMVM), Torbung GP Victims Committee and Apex Committee of Victim Villages (Ekou, Sadu Yengkhuman, Dolaithabi, Leitanpokpi, Mairenpat) have declared that they will join the mass rally scheduled for January 31 .

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, CMUC co-convenor Naba Ningthoujam said that the six organisations representing IDPs have decided to join the mass rally which is being organised with the primary objective of protecting Manipur from all adversaries.

Naba also appealed to all indigenous people of Manipur to support and join the mega rally.

Condemning the cold blooded murder of Mayanglambam Rishikanta in the strongest terms, he urged the Government to arrest the perpetrators and award them befitting punishment as per law.

Representatives of other IDP organisations were also present at the press meet.
