Don-bosco School, Langjing today celebrated its Silver Jubilee Celebration on the premises of the school.
Education Minister L Jayentakumar and Patsoi A/C MLA S Kunjakeshwar graced the function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Don Bosco School, Langjing Rector Rev Father CC Jose presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayentakumar while announcing the gathering that Rs 34 crore has been kept under ICT scheme to distribute computers to the schools of the State, he promised, Don Bosco School would also definitely get its share.
Jayentakumar also announced that construction works for the connecting roads of this prestigious school under TMC scheme would be started soon.
He further said that Government had chalked out plans to have same school timings for all schools in the State.
He also said that number of staff per student would also be maintained equally.
The State Government would treat the student community of the State equally irrespective of whether they belong to Government or private institutions, he added.
Maintaining that abnormal behaviour leads to chaos and unrest to the normal lives of the public, Jayentakumar asserted that the State needs an academic policy which can impart good moral values and discipline to the students in order to break the abnormal behavior prevalent in the
State.
Speaking on the occasion, Local MLA S Kunjakeshwar while mentioning the achievements of the school urged the School authority to keep the spirit alive and produce more brilliant students in future.
He also announced to donate Rs 10000 to the school on the
occasion.
Earlier, Don Bosco School principal, Rev Father MC George narrated school's long journey of 25 years during his speech.
Apart from the VIPs, Don Bosco School Rector Rev Father CC Jose, principal Rev Father MC Jose, headmistress S Dhaneshori, adminitrator Rev Father Nebu Mathew, Priest Rev Father John Med, Parents committee former president L Kumarjit, JN Dance Academy Director Yambem Laba, Little Flower School Superior Sister Meribal and Nirmalabas School headmistress Sister Victima were also members of the dais.
A jubilee banner was also unveiled by chief guest.
Later in the afternoon, guest artists and students performed cultural programmes to mark the occasion.
