Amidst the ongoing challenges in Manipur, renowned fashion designer and handloom entrepreneur Robert Naorem continues to champion the region's rich textile heritage on the global stage.
Naorem was among the 16 designers from different countries who participated at an exclusive international fashion show, organized and produced by World Fashion Council & International Model Counsil at Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Naorem showcased his latest collection "Langla" at the prestigious fashion show at the West Cord Fashion Hotel in Amsterdam.
The collection was showcased by 18 international models including Mr world Netherlands 2024.His latest collection, "Langla" is a tribute to the cultural and artistic brilliance of his home state Manipur, incorporating the traditional & modem designs.
"My vision for reviving handloom and promoting sustainable fashion is at the heart of this collection, which showcases the versatility of Manipur's woven silks, enhanced with intricate hand embroidery to cater to the international market", said Naorem.
The collection seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary aesthetics, featuring the original traditional attire, Indian sarees, and Western silhouettes, all crafted from the exquisite weaves of Manipur in the elegant color palette of black, cream, and ivory.
Naorem's participation in this prestigious event served as a beacon of hope and resilience, bringing much-needed visibility to Manipur's textile sector during these difficult times.
