Imphal, June 10 2025:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah's claims that there is peace in Jammu and Kashmir and Manipur are "bizarre" and meant to divert attention from his own "colossal failures", Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has said.
Despite his tall claims, the Union Home Minister has failed miserably in bringing Pahalgam terrorists to justice, and normalcy in Manipur.
Manipur continues to bum and the much-delayed President's Rule has been a miserable failure, the Congress leader said on X.This sharp reaction of the Congress leader came a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on a social media post, said "peace has been established in Jammu-Kashmir and the North East".
Amit Shah had said that during the "11 years of seva", the speed and scale of the country's development have been changed by 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance'.
In a social media post yesterday, Amit Shah wrote, "#11YearsOfSeva has also proved to be a milestone in the direction of National security.
Naxalism is on its last legs, peace has been established in Jammu-Kashmir and the North East, and India now responds to terrorist attacks by entering the homes of terrorists.
This shows the changing picture of India under the Modi Government.
"In Modi 3.0, the new India is rapidly progressing towards development and self-reliance with the power of reform, perform and transform.
This journey of making India number 1 in every field by bringing positive changes in the lives of the countrymen will continue like this," Shah added.
Responding to the remarks, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, "The claims made by the Union Home Minister on peace in J&K and Manipur yesterday are bizarre.
They are meant to divert attention from his own colossal failures.
"The terrorists responsible for brutal April 22, 2025 terror attacks in Pahalgam have still NOT been brought to justice.
According to some reports, that have not been denied, these very terrorists were also involved in the Dec 2023 terror attacks in Poonch and the Oct 2024 terror attacks in Gagangir and Gulmarg," Jairam said.
"Manipur continues to bum.
The much-delayed President's Rule has been a miserable failure.
Law and order is in a perilous condition.
The frustration, agony, and anger of the people of the State at the condition of their daily lives and livelihoods is unmistakable.
The Union Home Minister has failed miserably in bringing the Pahalgam terrorists to justice.
He has failed monumentally in bringing about normalcy in Manipur," continued the Congress leader on X .
"Never has India had a Union Home Minister whose tenure has been one of Maximum Boasts, Minimum Achievements - unless what he has been able to do for his son can count for that," Jairam added.
