Imphal, May 08 2026:
The Democratic Students' Alliance Manipur (DESAM) has demanded immediate removal of the Education (S) Commissioner and the BOSEM Chairman-in-charge and Secretary-in-charge, accusing them of remaining silent over the alleged use of substandard paper for answer sheets and textbooks in the current academic year.
It is unfortunate that the relevant authorities have paid no attention to the concerns being raised regarding the use of substandard paper without watermark for academic purposes, DESAM president Oinam Romesh said addressing the media at Keishampat today.
He stated that DESAM has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister today, demanding the removal of the Education (S) Commissioner and the BOSEM Chairman-in-charge and Secretary-in-charge.
They should not be assigned any educational posts in the future, he asserted.
Ignoring the issue of substandard paper could prompt DESAM to stage various forms of protest.
Romesh said and urged the Chief Minister to look into the matter and take necessary action at the earliest.
He, meanwhile, claimed that the HSLC examination results were leaked on social media before their official release.
Accusing BOSEM of not taking confidential matters seriously.
he stated that action must be taken against the erring officials.
