Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has extended warm New Year greetings to the people of Manipur.
In a message, Governor Bhalla urged everyone to collectively reaffirm their commitment to peace, harmony and mutual respect.
He expressed hope that 2026 will be a year in which "we strengthen our bonds of brotherhood among all communities, uphold the values of unity in diversity and work together to foster lasting peace and stability in the State" .
Conveying New Year wishes, Yumnam Khem-chand Singh, MLA, Singjamei AC prayed for prosperity and development in Manipur in 2026 .
"With the arrival of New Year, let all communities live in peace and harmony", he added.
Conveying New Year greetings, State legislators Thanga AC MLA T Robindro and Khundrakpam AC MLA Thokchom Lokeshwar wished for restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur.
MLA T Robindro prayed for all misunderstandings between different communities to be resolved in the New Year.
He also sought cooperation from the people in the Government's efforts to bring peace.
Acknowledging the damage done to the State by the conflict, MLA Th Lokeshwar sought the public's help to rebuild the State's united front.
Further, he wished prosperity and happiness for all communities in 2026 .
As 2025 comes to an end, Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) has extended heartfelt New Year greetings to every member of the "resilient Thadou community" and to all indigenous peoples of Manipur.
In a press release, TIM has expressed deep appreciation and commendation to the people of Manipur, particularly for the understanding, dialogue, and reconciliation achieved between the Thadou and Meitei communities during 2025.This collective progress marks a significant milestone, worthy of being etched in the history of Manipur as a triumph of people-to-people harmony, it said.
Recognizing the need for a "Thadou redefining process", TIM said the year 2026 should clearly distinguish genuine Thadou, who sincerely love and care for the people of Manipur, its land, ecology, culture, and shared future, from those who misuse the Thadou name for personal or divisive interests.
"May 2026 bring healing to our land, restoration and dignity to the displaced, and renewed strength to overcome divisions.
Let us pray for wisdom among our leaders, safety and well-being for our families, and prosperity rooted in unity", said TIM .
Moreover, the Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) and All India Students' Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council have also joined in extending New Year greetings to the people of Manipur.
