Imphal, February 25 2016:
Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has said that they will never forgive Naga Students' Federation (NSF) if the latter's ban on entry of Meitei/ Manipuri owned vehicles at Naga areas sparks communal tension.
Speaking to reporters, MSF president Oinam Nandababu said that it is condemnable to target the whole Meitei/Manipuri people for an alleged fault of Manipur police commandos.
The situation got aggravated as the State Government failed to act on time, he said.
Had NSF's demand/ memorandum been responded on time by the Government, the current situation could have been avoided, Nandababu said.
Saying that Manipur Government has a very bad habit of paying attention to the issue only when situation worsens, Nandababu said that the action of police commandos was also equally condemnable.
Expressing serious concern over harassing the volunteers of a responsible organisation like NSF, Manjit demanded befitting action against the involved commando personnel.
On the other hand, he urged NSF to acknowledge the fact that Manipur police commando is a force which has personnel belonging to different communities.
Further urging the NSF to act responsibly, Nandababu said that MSF would always extend support to sensible demands.
However, MSF would never forgive any organisation which sows seed of discord among communities, he said.
Nandababu also urged the people of the State to restrain from actions which may fuel communal tension.
