Imphal, February 25 2016:
An industrial expo where handloom and handicraft products and other products manufactured by different
industrial units of Manipur would exhibited would he held for
seven days starting from April 4 this year.
A meeting held on February 19 with Commerce and Indus-
tries Minister K Govindas decided to hold the industrial expo
to promote Chief Minister O Ibobi's Make in Manipur cam-
paign which is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's
Make in India mission, informed a source.
The expo which would continue till April 10 would be held
at the trade cum Government exhibition centre, Lamboi
Khongnangkhong.
Around 700 stalls would be opened at the expo and it
would feature buyers-sellers meet, interaction with artisans,
workshop on Indo-Myanmar trade and different achievements
of Commerce and Industries Department would also be high-
lighted.
Of the seven days of expo, six days would be given
different names.
April 5 would be named Textiles Day, April
6 Handicrafts Day, April 7 Entrepreneurs Day, April 8 Food
Processing Day, April 9 MSME Day and April 10 would be
named Sericulture Day.
In the course of the expo, Manipur would host a North
East Business Summit on April 8 and 9 under the aegis of the
Indian Chamber of Commerce and DoNER Ministry.
Apart from Union Ministers and officials, some firms
based outside the State may also participate in the expo.
April 10, the last day of the expo will have an exhilarating
Jewel Queen contest and fashion parade.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary has sought detail reports
from each and every department in order to compile a com-
prehensive report on the accomplishments of Chief Minister
O Ibobi's Government during the past 15 years.
