No let up in offensives from Kuki militants

Imphal, February 08 2024:
There is no respite in the violent campaign against Meiteis as Kuki militants attacked multiple Meitei villages today.
The Kuki militants carried out the attack at Itham, Tumukhong and Moirang-purel under Andro AC in Imphal East from the nearby hill ranges.
Similar offensive was also launched at Senjam Chirang in Imphal West today.
Notably, this is the third day of Kuki militants attacking Itham Moirangpurel and Tumukhong areas.
A group of sand miners at Tumukhong river bank were fired upon by Kuki militants on February 6 while Itham Moirangpurel areas were bombarded in the early morning yesterday.
Reportedly, Itham, Tumukhong and Moirang-purel were attacked at around 9 am from the nearby hill range and an exchange of fire ensued after the village volunteers retaliated.
There is no report of any injury.
The attack at Senjam Chirang, on the other hand, was carried out from Harao-thel Ching in Kangpokpi in the midnight.
The village volunteers fired back resulting in a gun fight which continued till about 3.30 am .
