24-hour retail petrol outlet launched

A 24-hour filling station for Imphal West was rolled into motion today at Jas Gas Service, Uripok, Imphal West by the CAF & PD Minister, M Oken.
Speaking at the launch ceremony of the 24-hour filling station, M Oken said Jas Gas Station which is intended to provide service 24-hours a day to the transporters and private vehicles would also ease the difficulties faced by vehicle owners who ply during odd hours and prevent them from filling their vehicles with fuel from the black market.
He said another such station would also be opened sooner than later at Porompat Oil Pump for Imphal East on rotation basis.
The Government had earlier assured the opening of two petrol filling stations in Imphal that would provide service 24 hours a day.

The Minister said the selling of petrol in the black market also gives negative impression of the people by tourists from outside.
Oken said petrol pumps in other districts would also be made to provide service till 9 pm while also urging the petrol pump owners to extend cooperation towards this end.
Stating that power supply to oil pumps 24 hours a day would be ensured with the introduction of prepaid system, the Minister also said the Government is planning to make shops of Imphal Bazar open till 9 pm, adding that this will effect change in the traffic system.
The CAF & PD Minister M Oken said that the Government would endeavour to reach all PDS items to the public items to the public adding that it would ensure to avail SK Oil and other items in all the hill districts.
Record of dealers lists has been collected so that the SK Oil is availed to various parts of each district.
Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir, and 21 MLAs including N Nandakumar, Ng Bijoy, RK Anand, and Th Shyamkumar have attended the launch programme of 24-hour petrol/diesel service.
