Imphal, June 01 2012:
With the stated objective of guiding students and their parents in the pursuit of higher education outside the State, Flourescence Communication, an agency in the education sector is set to hold a two day Education Fair at Hotel Classic on June 2 and 3 .
Speaking to reporters at the Manipur Press Club, Manager of Fluorescence Communication, Manipur branch, Ningthoujam Lakpati said that they have been at the forefront of familiarising the students and the parents on the potential of each discipline the young students would want to pursue outside the State.
Every year over 20 thousand students pass the 10 plus 2 examination in Manipur, said Lakpati and added that the State does not have the requisite number of institutions or universities to offer the needed technical or professional courses to the young students.
However the situation is a little different in other parts of the country and there is no reason why the students of Manipur should not avail the opportunities offered by the institutions and universities based outside the State, he said.
The Education Fair is being planned so that students from Manipur can avail the opportunities on offer outside the State, he added.
A host of representatives representing different institutions offering seats in MBA, MCA, M Tech, Hotel Management, Medical Nursing, Bio-technology, Fashion Designing and engineering disciplines will open their respective stalls during the fair.
Parents and students can interact with the representatives who will in turn give the needed information on the admission process and the career opportunities as well, said Lakpati.
All the courses on offer are recognised by the respective authority said Lakpati and added that the All India Council of Technical Education has granted recognition to all the institutions offering engineering courses with the Medical Council of India doing the same in the case of institutes offering medical courses.
Representatives from the North America Manipuri Association will also give a special counselling session to students and parents on the courses that can be studied in the United States as well as the scholarships that are available and how to work towards getting the scholarships.
The fair will also go a long way in minimising the cases of students being led astray on false promises once outside the State, he said.
In connection with the Education Fair, Md Ismat who topped the Class XII examination conducted by the CBSE this year will be presented an Apple Ipad as well as Rs 21,000 in cash said Lakpati and added that the Ipad is being sponsored by Aakash Institute, which recently launched a tablet course programme in India.
Other toppers will also be given cash incentives in connection with the fair, he added.
