Health camps conducted in Ukhrul villages

Assam Rifles organised medical camps at Gamnoum and Shakpao villages in Ukhrul district on Thursday in continuation of its commitment to community welfare and part of the force's medical welfare programme, aimed at improving healthcare access in remote areas.
The Gamnoum camp Was attended by 113 villager, including 35 women and 17-children, while 107 villagers - comprising 47 men, 43 women and 17 children - turned up at Shakpao camp.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the camps provided essential medical services, with a team including the medical officer, paramedics, and Assam Rifles personnel conducting health check-ups and distributing' free medicines.
Health awareness sessions on hygiene, preventive care, and common ailments were also conducted to promote long-term well-being, said the PRO, adding that the villagers expressed gratitude for Assam Rifles' efforts, which have significantly improved healthcare access in underserved regions.
