Imphal, June 29 2025:
The Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra was celebrated with great enthusiasm at CRPF Group Centre CRPF Campus, Langjing, on Friday, drawing a large gathering of CRPF personnel and their families.
In a release, CRPF M&N Sector PRO informed that thousands of devotees pulled the ornately decorated chariot carrying the revered idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Sub-hadra through the campus lanes.
To mark the auspicious beginning of the festival, the CRPF IGP visited the Laxmi Narayan Temple within the campus and offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being of the force.
He also conveyed his greetings to the family members present.
The release continued that in accordance with traditional Vaishnavite customs, CRPF family quarters along the chariot procession route made offerings of seasonal fruits and sweets to the passing deities.
A key highlight of the festival was the distribution of 'Mahaprasad', traditionally served on lotus leaves to symbolise purity and devotion.
The celebrations will culminate on July 5 with the Bahuda Yatra, marking the return journey of the three deities to their temple, it said.
