AR conducts tribute event, painting competition

Senapati/Noney, July 22 2025:
A solemn wreath laying ceremony was conducted at the Assam Rifles War Memorial, Maram in Senapati district, on Tuesday to honour the supreme sacrifice of rifleman (GD) Nasiruddin Khan, who laid down his life while combating insurgents on July 22, 1992 in Nagaland.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of all ranks remembering the supreme sacrifice of the soldier and one minute's silence observed during the ceremony.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles on Tuesday organised painting competition at the Government High School, Tupul village in Noney district, to commemorate National Flag Day.
The event was aimed at inspiring the young minds to express their thoughts on themes such as patriotism, national unity, and social awareness through the medium of art.
A total 50 students and four teachers participated with great zeal, translating their imagination and heartfelt emotions into vibrant posters and captivating paintings.
The event culminated with the distribution of prizes to the winners.
