New AMBA Secy moots lawyer's forum

Imphal, July 17 2025: Newly-elected All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) secretary advocate Ningombam Angothoiba Meitei, has expressed his intention to establish a dedicated Lawyers' Forum that will actively coritribute to addressing emerging legal challenges and issues in the state.

Speaking during a felicitation function organised by Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) in his honour at Manipur Press Club on Thursday, advocate Angothoiba noted that many associated with the KSA have entered the legal profession over the years.

He advised the students' body to compile and provide data on students who have taken up careers in law.

Sharing his vision, he stated that the proposed Lawyers' Forum would be formed in consultation with the parent organisation and function with the collective support of legal professionals.

He pointed out the need for a structured action plan to guide the forum's activities in addressing legal and societal issues as they arise.

The function was also attended by Kangla Pao editor Paonam Labango Mangang, UCM and COCOMI consultative member Birjit Tourangbam and KSA president Sukham Bidyananda as presidium members.
