AR conducts awareness on dengue, NMBA

Assam Rifles conducted an awareness lecture on World Dengue Day at Cornerstone School located at Longja village in Chandel district on Friday.
According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (South), the session, led by health experts from Assam Rifles, was attended by 105 students and 10 teachers.
The event, which aimed to raise awareness about dengue, its causes, symptoms and effective prevention strategies, also highlighted the importance of cleanliness and community-led sanitation efforts, especially in light of the upcoming monsoon season which increases the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
The initiative is part of the sustained efforts of Assam Rifles to promote health and hygiene in remote areas.
The staff and students appreciated the informative session and lauded the force's proactive role in community welfare, the PRO informed.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles conducted an awareness programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) at Adullam Rehabilitation Centre, H Munnom village, Moreh in Tengnoupal district on Saturday.
The event, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, was attended by 25 individuals undergoing rehabilitation.
The programme began with an insightful lecture by AR personnel, highlighting the severe impact of drug addiction on health, family and society.
Participants received motivational guidance, encouraging them to lead lives of discipline, self-belief and social responsibility.
All attendees took a solemn pledge to stay away from drugs and contribute to a drug-free India, committing to inspire positive change in their communities, the PRO informed.
