Assam Rifles holds security meet with Kuki CSOs, village chiefs

Noney, May 02 2025: Assam Rifles organised a security meeting with Kuki CSOs and village chiefs at COB Kotlen, Kangpokpi district on Thursday.

The meeting presided over by Noney Battalion commandant was attended by 11 individuals, including representatives from Kuki Students' Organisation, Kuki Inpi Manipur and village chiefs.

The major points of discussion were security arrangements on May 3, the day when violence broke out in Manipur in 2023; and resettlement of IDPs who were forced to vacate their villages due to the ethnic clashes.

The commandant assured the attendees of taking every necessary step for safety of the villagers, amelioration of the IDPs and development of the villages' infrastructure.

The village chiefs and CSO representatives were also encouraged to assist the Assam Rifles in maintaining security and peace in the region.

At the culmination of the security meeting, the village chiefs and CSO representatives expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for keeping the area safe and secure and all the assistance being provided to the IDPs, in these difficult times.
