AMWJU, Editors' Guild Manipur clarify

Imphal, May 17 2025: All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and Editors' Guild Manipur (EGM) have issued a clarification that a recent complaint submitted to the DGP with some AMWJU members appending their signatures, is not related with the two organisations.

In a joint statement, AMWJU and EGM informed that it was brought to their notice that some members of AMWJU had appended their signatures to a complaint submitted to Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur.

The complaint requested the DGP to take action against an individual for criminal intimidation to a particular community.

The joint statement categorically clarified that the said complaint has nothing to do with either of the two organisations.

It stated that journalists must maintain the highest ethical standards in their conduct as well as while reporting any incident.
