Eviction drive ordered in Thoubal district

Thoubal, July 22 2025: The district administration has ordered encroachers on roads and estate lands along the NH-102 and other locations in Thoubal district to remove the illegal structures by July 30, failing which eviction drive would be carried out with assistance of the district police.

Addressing media persons at the Thoubal DC conference hall, here, on Tuesday, additional district magistrate A Amarjit stated that all illegal structures built along the market footpaths, roadsides, and estate lands in the district must be removed/dis-mantled by July 30, failing which the district administration will begin the eviction process from the following day.

He added that failure to comply within the stipulated time may also result in fines.

Thoubal DC Hannah Kamei, who also attended the press briefing, appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to the initiative undertaken by the district administration.
