Civil defence mock drill held at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, May 17 2025:
A comprehensive mock drill aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness was held on Saturday at Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Farmland, Tamenglong.
The event was organised by Tamenglong district administration and attended by key officials, including SDO Tamenglong D Meidinbui, SP Lanmiyo Luikham, additional SP Josiah T Pamei and EMRS principal cum administrator Dr Shaganlung Pamei.
The mock drill brought together personnel from various security and emergency response agencies including 6 Assam Rifles, CRPF, Manipur Rifles, fare department, and medical department to simulate response strategies in the event of disaster.
During the drill, participants were instructed on essential survival skills including how to sef up a tent, carry injured individuals using hands, shoulders and stretchers, and the importance of remaining calm during emergencies.
Civilians were also educated on how to seek shelter during air raids and the proper procedures for evacuating damaged buildings.
The mock drill served as a vital exercise in building community resilience and preparedness, equipping civilians with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively in times of crisis.
