TYCM urges repair of tribal market

Imphal, July 15 2025: Members of Tribal Youth Council Ma nipur (TYCM) inspected the present condition of Tribal market at New Checkon on Tuesday and urged Tribal Affairs & Hills (TA & H) Department to repair the market.

After inspecting the market, TYCM spokesperson Ningreishang Zimik told media persons that Tribal market at New Checkon is the only market in Imphal area exclusively run by the tribal.

This market is the source of income for many tribal vendors and workers but the present condition of the market is horrible, he said arid urged officials of the department concerned to look into the market and take up repairing works.

According to Ningreishang, Checkon Tribal market is for all the tribal communities of the state and not solely for a single tribal community.

No organisation or individual should intervene in taking up development activities at the market, he said adding that TYCM will work at its best level to make the market a complete one.
