AR holds musical evening, observes Patriots' Day

As a tribute to the 79th Independence Day and the resounding success of Operation Sindoor, Assam Rifles organised a musical evening at the historic Kangla western gate, featuring a performance by the Assam Rifles Jazz and Pipe Band, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of approximately 200 attendees, including troops and members of the local community.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event attended by senior officials of IGAR South unfolded with a vibrant display of musical artistry and patriotic spirit.
Over the course of 45 minutes, the bands delivered a soul-stirring repertoire of patriotic melodies, seamlessly blending the smooth harmonies of jazz with the commanding cadence of the pipe band.
The audience, immersed in the rhythm and emotion of the performances, responded with heartfelt applause and visible pride.
The musical showcase not only celebrated India's freedom but also honoured the dedication and discipline of the Assam Rifles, whose commitment to excellence was evident in every beat and march, the PRO stated.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles organised a painting competition at ARPS, Shang-shak in commemoration of Patriots' Day, held in remembrance of the sacrifices made during Manipur's resistance against British colonial rule, most notably the martyrdom of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General in 1891.The competition was participated by 40 students, who brought their imagination to life through vivid depictions of patriotism, expressing their love for the nation through powerful visuals and thoughtful compositions.
It served as a dynamic platform for children to explore their artistic potential, build confidence, and engage in meaningful self-expression, the PRO expressed, adding that themes of the competition ranged from national symbols and freedom fighters to scenes of unity and resilience, reflecting the depth of emotion and awareness among the participants.
