Kanglei Panas urges youth not to sell intoxicants

Kanglei People against Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Kanglei Panas) has urged all youths and students under 23 years of age and running shops not to sell intoxicants and other psychotropic substances.
In a press meet held at Thangjing Hall of Manipur Press Club, here Monday, Kanglei Panas secretary general Phundrei Wahaj said that each of us play an important role in protecting the society from the influence of intoxicants and other illegal substances.
He then urged all youths and students under 23 years of age, who are operating shops not to sell such substances including liquor, tobacco products, and cigarettes, while also calling upon the people not to buy such items and used them in public spaces.
Mentioning that sale of such substances is banned within 100 metres of schools and colleges, Wahaj said that anyone found doing is liable for legal punishment.
He further urged against abusing such substances at venUes of festivals and entertainment programmes, and call upon the people to help create a drug free Manipuri society.
