FTC convicts man under POCSO Act

Imphal, July 08 2025: The Fast Track Special Court No 2, Manipur has decreed one Khoisnam Ibohal Singh (63) as guilty under Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 .

According to sources, the conviction relates to a POCSO case pursued by Imphal West Women police station since 2020.Ibohal was arrested on October 2, 2020, and remanded to police custody before being sent to jail on October 9 the same year.

Following investigation, a charge-sheet was filed against him before the Special Judge (POCSO), Imphal East, on December 5, 2020, under Section 5 of the POCSO Act.

After prolonged legal proceedings, the case was transferred to Fast Track Special Court No 2, Manipur.

Following a thorough examination of the investigation report, relevant documents and all supporting evidence, the court on Tuesday found him guilty under Section 12 of the POCSO Act.

The quantum of punishment will be announced on July 10 .
