Eviction drive carried out in Thoubal

Imphal, August 06 2025: In continuation of fhe eviction drive against encroachments in public spaces invoking Section 15 of the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act, 1960 since July 31, Thoubal district administration dismantled illegal structures from Thoubal Haokha to Lilong Keithel and other locations on Wednesday.

The drive carried out using excavators was supervised by Thoubal deputy commissioner Hannah Kamei, Lilong SDO, settlement officials, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and Thoubal police personnel.

Property owners Whose structures were dismantled by the district administration during the drive were also slapped Rs 2000 fine.

It can be mentioned that Thoubal DC had issued an order on July 22 notifying the eviction drive with police using loudspeakers to advise the en-croachers to voluntarily remove the unauthorised structures.
