Transporters advised to honour bandh call

Imphal, July 25 2025:
Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation Manipur (RNYOM) has cautioned that bandh defaulters will be interrogated, and if necessary, he/she shall be penalised accordingly.
In a release, RNYOM reminded that a resolution taken on July 23 at the Joint Tribes Consultation Meeting held at Siangai Namdai/Parengba notified to all owners of all commercial vehicles that bandh volunteers/support-ers shall frisk and check the commodities that are meant for supplying to other communities especially to Kuki tribe at any given point of time.
If the transporter(s) is/are apprehended or caught red-handed, he or she is liable for any action deemed fit with compulsory payment a fine of Rs 50,000 .
The release further advised the passengers, transporters/drivers not to operate in late night, taking in account of the present scenario.
Defaulters will be interrogated, and if necessary, he/she will be penalised, it reiterated.
