Mock drill 'Operation Abhyaas' conducted

Thoubal, May 17 2025: In a bid to evaluate and enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities during wartime situations, Thoubal district administration conducted a mock drill under "Operation Abhyaas" at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School playground on Saturday.

The exercise simulated various emergency scenarios, including an air raid warning siren, public announcements via police vehicles, fire engine sirens, blackout simulations, search and rescue operations, casualty evacuation, and civil defence training.

The drill aimed to test coordination among emergency response teams and improve community readiness in the event of a conflict-related disaster.

DC Thoubal Hannah Kamei, additional DC B Lokeshwor Sharma, additional SP (LO) N Suraj, additional SP (Ops) Hijam Debendro, along with police officers, civil defence personnel, and officials from the Red Cross Society, Thoubal branch attended the drill.
